Alina is an architectural designer and empirical design researcher. With a background in neuroscience and architecture, her work bridges the social sciences and design to enhance human health in the built environment. She serves as an AIA Detroit Director, a member of the National Council of Ethics, a NAAB Accreditation Team member (2026), and an EDRA Board Member.

Kathryn Parkhurst

Kathryn is a licensed architect, educator, and design researcher. Grounded in Trauma-informed Design, and the Psychology of Space, her work examines how the built environment shapes human experience, belonging, and wellbeing. Through design, education, and speaking, she brings a human-centered lens to questions of meaning, continuity, and empathy in architecture.
